The Ayatollah of Rock N' Rolla': An Interview With DRAVAN.
Alright, first off, I just want to immensely thank you, DRAVAN, for giving me your time. Rez777: First question: How did you get to being an Administrator? DRAVAN: Well, I was a Moderator back in the days of Runescape Central, for about 5 months or so. Then, when MrStormy and Weezy came aboard they offered a position to me to be an admin. I said yes and I have been an admin on that site for about 6-8 months or so. Then I helped in the forming of Rune HQ and have been an admin ever since. Rez777: That is indeed very interesting. Next question: How much stress is there in being an Administrator? DRAVAN: Not too much honestly, as long as we have a crack team such as we have now, everything runs smoothly and all is great. However, at times, it can get hard, but that comes with the job. Rez777: Have you ever made a decision on Rune HQ that you would later go on to regret? DRAVAN: Yes. There have been a few. There have been people that I have known for sometime that I have had to give warnings, and ban. That is the tough part because you are torn between them and your position on the site. Although, they do realize that friendship doesn't give you a free pass on the rules that we made. Rez777: Do you plan to update the Rune HQ website? If yes, what would the update be? DRAVAN: Well, we are always trying to keep our site up to speed with new news and site enhancements. It's hard to say at the moment what the next great update will be. I guess you will just have to wait to see it when it happens. Rez777: Oh, I can't wait! Now an off topic question: How's the baby? DRAVAN: Alyssa is doing great; she is my li'l angel. She is getting so big, and changing everyday. We have waited a long time for her to come into our lives and she's every thing we have imagined. Don't get me wrong, she is a handful at times, but hey, that's expected. It's amazing how something like a child can alter every part of your life and change you as a person almost instantly. I mean, you dont look at things the same way. It's like looking at things for the first time and through your child's eyes. Rez777: Wow, sounds like powerful stuff... Another question: What do you like to do in your leisure time? DRAVAN: Well, let's see. There's music. I like to play the guitar. I have been doing so for about 14 years. I love paintball and my dogs. Reading, and playing Ghost Recon. I also have a green thumb for my yard, snowboarding and about any outside activity. Other than that, my job and family take up most of my time. Rez777: Ah, yes... Next question: in the forum, what is your favourite board (Off Topic, General, Market, etc.)? DRAVAN: Well, besides doing updates, which I love, I'd say off topic. Mostly because it's a place for users to talk about things that matter to them: everyday news, personal questions, things in their lives and it's kind of a more relaxed setting. It's a fun and exciting area. You never know exactly what will be in there. Rez777: I do indeed agree with you. Next question: What was the first board made in the forums? DRAVAN: Well, besides the Administrator and Moderator forums, it was done in basically the way its shown. I just went to the old forum and went down the list and set it up that way. However, it has been altered from time to time to make it into the way it is now by your friendly Administrators. Rez777: Ah, I see. Next question: What is your occupation? DRAVAN: I am an autocadd draftsman for local government. I basically assist/create drafts for bridges, roadwork, building projects and evacuation plans for various clients in our area. Rez777: Wow, that's a pretty good job! Next question: When did the Rune HQ website start? DRAVAN: Rune HQ was a creation of MrStormy and Weezy due to the fall of Runescape Central. The fall occured due to lack of leadership by the site owner, so MrStormy took over and eventually decided to leave Runescape Central behind and create Rune HQ, Rez777: Ah, so that's how it happened. Now for my penultimate question: What do you see for the future of Rune HQ? DRAVAN: I see a site dedicated to the users of Runescape. We always strive to provide the best info and a great forum for everyone. When this site started we were a small group, but with the great support, info and friendly users, we have grown into a great and impressive site. Rune HQ is a site FOR the users BY the users. the future of Rune HQ and its mark on the game of runescape rests with our users and a great staff... So I'd say watch out. Here we come! Rez777: Alright, last question: How did you come acoss the username, DRAVAN? DRAVAN: Ah, well, when I started I spent about an hour tring to find a name. Nothing to silly or anything with numbers (that's just not my style). I wanted something that seemed bold. So I tried: Odin, Thor, Reaper and so on but all were taken. At the time my T.V was on and the movie was "The Crow" and the crow's name was Eric Draven. i just changed the 'e' to an 'a'. Then it was DRAVAN... sounded good.
