Newspaper Introduction Liberty. Justice. And most of all, Freedom. These are just a few words to describe our great country of America. God Bless the good ol' U-S-of-A. Speaking of America, the RuneHQ Newspaper has taken the opportunity to make its July edition’s theme a Freedom theme. We have done this to support patriotism and to remember all our great American Heroes who have given their lives to make our lives full of freedom. It was on this day, July 4th, the year 1776, that the United States had officially Declared it's Independence from England. This newspaper before you has articles, stories, poems, interactive activities, and humor that support this freedom and celebrate the importance of July 4th. On the cover you will notice a picture, created by Freakybat, with cheerleaders dancing with their pom-poms to the Star Spangled Banner, our country's National Anthem, written by Francis Scott Key in 1814. “The Star-Spangled Banner” was officially made the national anthem by Congress in 1931, although it already had been adopted as such by the army and the navy. On the subject of Freakybat, we regret to inform everybody that he will not be with us for the next edition or two to bring you those lovely fake screenies, as he will be on vacation. He is scheduled to return on the 29th of August. Have a fun and safe time Freaky! =) In my Interactive Section, you will notice that the activities are all based around the 4th of July and Freedom spirit. From the “Liberty March Maze” to an “America the Beautiful” Letter Tiles. The Co-Owner of RuneHQ himself, Mr. Stormy, brings you this month’s up-to-date news of both Runescape and your favorite Runescape help site, Rune Headquarters. Has anybody seen Waldo? He seems to be missing somewhere in the Runescape world. Thanks for fccolorado, you can try and find him. Willi also tries to have a banging time, (literally!), with some fireworks and white-bearded, pant-torn Runescape noob. Bolongacamel remembers a tragic time in the United States’ history. As almost all Americans remember, on September 11, 2001 the Twin Towers fell to the ground courtesy of a cowardly kamikaze attack. Also in the poems section, Morsereg exercises his Freedom of Speech. Taxation Without Representation Is Tyranny according to CJH. A fundamental difference of opinion had developed between British authorities and the Americans on the related issues of taxing the colonists and their representation in Parliament. On the surface, the Americans held to the view of actual representation, meaning that in order to be taxed by Parliament, the Americans rightly should have actual legislators seated and voting in London. Myself and good friend & trusty Co-Chief Editor pay our respects our former president, the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan as he died at the age of 90. Overlord Fishy brings everybody, once again, a thrilling Market Analysis as he observes the Runescape economy and market dominance for the current time. The RuneHQ Newspaper also sets an all-time record for itself by bringing you NINE, that's right, count them, NINE, different songs for you in this edition. 3 of those songs are by good ol' Banjo, two from Overlord Fishy, and the rest by various artists including Toby Keith in American Soldier and Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) along with two other Great American-Quality songs by Hank Williams Jr. and Aaron Tippin. So without further a-do, let me officially introduce to you the Special-Edition, July-Edition, of the RuneHQ Newspaper: Remembering Our Heroes So sit back, grab a cold one, and watch as the fireworks ignite in this must-see one-of-a-kind newspaper! Thank you and Enjoy! Monkeychris ~ Brian, RuneHQ Administrator & Co-Chief Editor of the RuneHQ Newspaper If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life. And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife. I’d thank my lucky stars, to be livin here today. ‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away. And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA. From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee. Across the plains of Texas, From sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston, and New York to L.A. Well there's pride in every American heart, and its time we stand and say. That I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA. And I’m proud to be and American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA. |
