Market Analysis: May/June

Market Rating: The market is beginning to flow as normal as it ever did on Runescape Classic. With Magic Rings and Dragon Hide Armor in Runescape, the Crafting market is a great one. Mining is coming up from its dive and it is a good time to sell high ores or coal. Smithing shows some life and is about so-so (unless you can make Rune). Ranging and Fletching is a place for selling bulk items. Fishing is going crazy with lobsters. With Magic, Rune prices are down and with Herblore, the market is surging. Overall, I think that the present market deserves a rating of 7.9 out of 10.

Rare Items:
[King Olo has generously pitched in a wonderful rare item guide!]

Party Hats
These colorful little beauties are probably the most famous rare item throughout Runescape. Unfortunately they are also the most expensive (next to the Christmas Cracker). These were brought into Runescape on Christmas Day 2001. They came from crackers, which could be pulled with another player (see 'Christmas Cracker' for more information).
Red party hat: 3.2m
Pink party hat: 3.5m
Yellow party hat: 4m
White party hat: 4.2m
Green party hat: 4.5m
Blue party hat: 8m

Christmas Cracker
The rarest item in all of Runescape these were dropped on Christmas 2001 and could be 'pulled' with another player. One of you would get a random item (excluding Party Hats and Rares) and a party hat. The other player would get nothing. Since most of the crackers were pulled, there are very few left in the game. These have been known to sell for 25 million before the duplicating.
Christmas Cracker: 25m-50m

Pumpkins
The first rare item that Jagex released was dropped during Halloween 2001 was the Pumpkin. These had an eat option, and many have been eaten by accident or on purpose making these what I believe to be the second rarest item.
Pumpkin: 200k to 400k

Easter Eggs
Dropped on Easter 2002. These are for some reason the cheapest rare item. Like pumpkins these had an eat option and are slowly being wiped out. These are the only tradable Easter item.
Easter egg: 170k to 200k

Halloween Masks
These were the dropped on Halloween 2002. These come in three colors: red blue and green. These are popular among many players and can be afforded my most players.
Green: 250k-300k Red: 350k-400k Blue: 350k-400k

Santa Hats
Dropped during Christmas 2002 and was the last tradable rare item. These are the second cheapest rare item, just after Easter eggs.
Santa hat: 150k-200k

Disk of Returning
Long ago in Runescape there was a place called The Black Hole. Players who were banned were sent here. Non-banned players could have 'The Black Hole Experience', by which a dwarf would sell them a disk of returning for 10gp. You would climb down a ladder and appear in the black hole. you had to spin the disk to appear outside. But when the entrance to the Black Hole was removed, so was the dwarf and players with disks became extremely rich.
Disk of returning: 200k -300k

Half Full Wine Jug
Once upon a time in Runescape when you had a jug of wine you could drink half of it. However when you did this it still looked like the same as a full jug. It used to appear where the wine of Zamorak now spawns. This item like Easter eggs and pumpkins can be consumed, slowly wiping the amount currently on the market, out.
Half full wine jug: 200k-500k

Bunny Ears
These were dropped during Easter 2003. They were the first non-tradable rare item. These are very rarely seen being worn, as they many consider that they don't look very good.

Scythe
These were dropped during Halloween 2003. These were the last rare item dropped, and many complained about not getting one. These are the most useful rare item, as they are the only weapon that can be taken on the lost city quest. These are also non tradable.

Miscellaneous rare, non-existent and non-rare items:

Old Pineapple
When the Gnome Stronghold came into Runescape, pineapples were changed to fresh pineapples. These were rare once but are no longer since Jogres drop them.

Dragon Square Shields and Medium Helmets
These are very valuable pieces of armor, which can go for millions of GP’s. King Black Dragons, Black Dragons, Black Demons and Fire Giants drop Medium Helmets. The more rare Half of the Square Shield is said to be dropped by all enemies that drop Half Keys. The confirmed monsters are: King Black Dragon, Black Dragon, Black Demon and Fire Giants.
Dragon medium helmet: 2.5-3.5m
Dragon square shield: 2-3m or 7-8m

Black Items
Despite what they get called, no piece of Black Armor is rare. Chains, Hatchets, Scimitars, etc. are often dropped by Black Demons and Moss Giants. Medium Helmets are often found in the Digsite.
All black items: 2k

I hope this has helped you and given you an insight into the wonderful world of Rares!
There maybe some Rares that I've miss out but I've listed most of them. Remember the Toy Horse is not rare.
Rating for Rare Items: 8.3

Mining:
Mining is at a halfway point. After the release of Runescape, the Mining Market took a dive and is now coming back up. The real demand is in Coal and Mithril. Coal often goes for 200 GP each, but they may sell for less. Mine your silver!
Rating for Mining: 7.8

Smithing (does not include armor and weapons):
The demand has always been in Steel Bars. Prices have stabilized to the 600 they used to be at. The only other hot Smithing item are the Mithril bars. Demand for these are constant, making them very attractive. Silver bars have been a good sell lately. You can usually sell them from 450 (very low point) to 600. Rating for Smithing: 8.1

Cooking and Fishing:
Cooked lobsters are an awesome thing to sell. Even with the PKers divided up, the demand is still remarkably high. The note system seems to have made other fish, like tuna and swordfish, more popular recently. Sharks are also very good to sell now if you can. Rating for Cooking and Fishing: 8.9

Weapons and Armor:
Rune items are on fire right now! If you had a Rune 2 Handed Sword, you can forget selling it for 50k. Everyone uses daggers and scimitars now. Dragon Mediums have been staying stable so don't expect it change for a long time. Dragon Battle Axes are disappearing in sales because of its slow attack rate. The real Dragon items are the swords and daggers. Rating for Weapons and Armor: 9.1

Crafting:
People are still buying Dragonhide Armor. A Dragonstone Ring of Wealth sells for about 100k after stabilizing. In other words, the Crafting Market is simple and sweet.
Rating for Crafting: 8.4

Runecrafting:
Rune essences have dropped to 50 GP each because of the oversupply. Talismans also have dropped to various amounts but still are a hot sell. If you have a talisman, sell it before the race to #1 ends!
Rating for Runecrafting: 8.2

Runescape Classic:
Runscape Classic is dead. One of the only things you can sell is lobster certificates. Runite items are selling a little bit, but don't make it a top priority.
