Newspaper Submissions Guide

First off, when you want to submit something to the paper, you need to choose what it will be. It could be either a fake picture (such as the ones done by our graphics team), a news article (done by our reporters), or an interview (which, of course, is done by our interviewers). Another common article people submit is a story or song about Runescape.

For a fake picture, often called a fakie on RuneHQ, you would need to capture your character doing something you think others would find hilarious. You would then need to upload it on the net and submit it to the RHQN users’ forum. If you need to learn more about uploading and editing images, you can check out the guide written by Ged called, Creating Screen Captures in Windows.

If you decide that you want to write a report, it is usually easy as there is much to report and therefore a variety for you to choose from. Reporters basically get to write about whatever they want, as long as it applies to RuneHQ or Runescape itself. Of course, after you have written your report, you will need to go to users' forum and submit your article as a topic.

If you decide you want to do an interview, you can interview strong Runescape players or people on RuneHQ such as Moderators and Administrators. You can ask them questions such as how long have they played the game, what their level is, etc. Asking some questions having to do with a holiday if there is one would be good as well. Finally, you will also need to submit this as a topic in the users' Written Submissions forum.

To write a story, all you need is a good imagination, acceptable grammar (it doesn't need to be perfect as our editors can fix any mistakes, although it would be nice to give them a small break and make their job easier by checking it for grammar and spelling mistakes yourself) and the ability to write really well to capture the reader and keep them interested. Then, when you're done with your story, just submit it in the users’ forum!

I truly hope this guide was of use to you in some way or another!
